Application of Ice Packs
Ice is the most commonly used for the treatment of acute injuries, such as muscle or ligament sprains. It acts as an analgesic by decreasing blood flow to the injured tissue which in turn reduces the inflammatory response caused by damaged tissue. Ice can be applied in many forms including ice packs, ice massage and cold gels or sprays.
